Afrigator the African aggregator has turned one today. They celebrated with the change in logo which I have shown on the left.
I went over to the official blog to see what was going on and there was a touching post by concerning the rise of Afrigator, and here is what he said.
It has been a whole year since we launched Afrigator and since Rafiq posted the first coverage of the site and all of us involved simply can’t believe how the time has flown.
What started as a fairly small project has grown into something beyond our wildest dreams and we’ve had some great experiences during this first year. Even despite having very limited resources and money we’ve managed to do quite a number of things.
In Africa resources are very limited and it is sometimes disheartening. However they are still some very exceptional people who have fought on.
Afrigator in many African bloggers minds, is not only an aggregator with a funny name, but a source of inspiration and passion for all who have a love of web 2.0.
What is lies next for Afrigator?
No one knows for sure, but the hope is they will grow and keep on growing. Happy birthday.
Please remember to blow the candles.
